Grape varieties: 50% Grenache, 20% Carignan; 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre Harvest: By hand from August 20 to September 29, 2019. Vinification: 20% in new 300-litre barrels (Carignan), daily punching down the cap, then transfer of the free-run juice after fermentation to a new 228-litre barrel 80% traditional vinification (Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre) with delestage at the very beginning of fermentation and then light daily pumping over. Maceration for about 3 to 4 weeks. Drawing off, malolactic fermentation and running off the first pressings into barrels. Aged for 15 months, 50% in new oak, 40% in one-vintage barrels, 10% aged in tank.
Dark, with deep purple glints.
A strong aromatic character, combining a well-controlled woody intensity with powerful notes of ripe fruit, chocolate, pepper and cinnamon.
The attack is generous and structured with dense, silky tannins. The mid-palate is luscious and very fresh with aromas of ripe black fruits, fresh red berries and spices. The finish evokes cocoa powder with almost spicy undertones.
