PRECISE QUALITY MANAGEMENT
The Beaujolais Villages appellation is the first “VILLAGES” appellation, starting in 1950 to officially use this word to nominate a specific part of its AOC. Cultivated on the region’s best hills, at an altitude of 350 meters on average, the Beaujolais-Villages vines flourish thanks to the special sunshine on these terroirs since this prestigious vineyard stands on granite, sandy soils with some volcanic sedimentary rock. Gamay, the emblematic grape variety of the Beaujolais region, expresses its full potential.
MAISON CASTEL KNOW-HOW
The Maison Castel team works with their long-term partners following strict specifications to achieve the best expression of each appellation.Hand-picked and vinified in whole bunches, the grapes are macerated during 10 days. This technique combined with a gentle extraction while pumping over the juice, make wines with integrated tannins and smooth mouthfeel.
